Story
I will be embarking on an extreme bike ride for five days in Kerala, India that will see me riding 100’s and 100’s of kilometres, spending 8-10 hours per day on a bike. (Not motor)
Whilst the thought is extremely daunting, this is a very personal journey. At the age of 16 I lost my mother, and have decided now is the time to do something in her name to secure her legacy.
I have chosen an organization called Norwood, and have committed to raise money to build and fully kit out an apartment from scratch that will house at least two young individuals with profound disabilities who are unable to live independently.
This will give them a chance of a life that many of us don’t have the need to think or worry about having.
The cost of this project is in excess of £100,000 and the apartment will be named in memory of my mother. It
is a truly fantastic charity and one that I have been involved with for many years.
From a personal point of view, having taken the decision to also get myself fit, having in the last few years recovered from a debilitating stomach illness and Bells Palsy, this bike ride is a challenge that I am determined to complete.
I am determined to achieve this whilst ensuring the money I raise is something that will benefit young
people who really do need an opportunity to enjoy their lives with as much independency as possible. Something that many of us are fortunate enough to take for granted.
I hope you can see the benefit of what this money can do and feel inclined to help me.
Thanking you in advance for your
kind generosity.
