Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives. we can’t fly without you!

Story

For four days in July this year I will be taking part in the Challenge Iceland trek, with a group of fellow fundraisers, to help raise much needed funds for the Essex Air Ambulance.

The trek will be taking us along a 60km
(approx.) route in the south of the country known for its varied terrain and scenery. Although I've been lucky enough to travel to Iceland before, the trek will be far removed from my previous experience. Gone are the hotels and 4x4, this time replaced by my two feet and a tent. Having never trekked, camped out or crossed a river(s) on foot before, it is bound to be an experience to remember!

More importantly, however, is that along the way I get to raise money and awareness for a very worthy cause. It costs around £250,000 a month to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations for the Essex Air Ambulance, which is a huge amount of money. The charity receives no National Lottery funding and is reliant on donations to keep the service in the air and helping to save lives across the county.

Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated, your support means a lot.
