Story
Ang was diagnosed with cancer in her appendix and stomach lining at the end of feb. She was able to have chemotherapy for a short period but we were then told this was not working and the cancer was spreading. Despite the worry, the pain and discomfort mum took this in her stride and continued to always put others before herself and showed courage like we’ve never seen before.
Not only did mum have to deal with a terminal illness she had the added complications of COVID-19 meaning she had to attend all appointments/treatment alone and could not spend time with family/friends when she needed them the most.
On the 21st Oct Ang moved to St. Peter’s after spending 3 very difficult weeks at southmead. Mum was at the hospice for 2 weeks and in that time she received exceptional, attentive care from all of the staff at St. Peter’s hospice.
They assisted in creating an early Christmas Day for Mum which she loved and was a great moment for all the family.
Despite COVID restrictions the hospice still gave an incredible service to our family and we are eternally grateful for that. The staff also provided family support and comfort which made the very difficult time that little bit easier.
