Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am taking part in the Marathon Des Sables which involves a 6 day/151 mile (243km) endurance race across theSaharaDesert in Morocco. The race starts on the 27th March and finishes on the 4th April. I have to be self sufficient for the entire race carrying my own bedding, food and water. You could say it is the world's toughest self-catering holiday! Daytime temperatures top 140 degrees and the organisers ration your water to just 9 litres per day.
Clean water is essential for life, but one in eight people in the world do not have it. In combination with a lack of sanitation this results in over two million people dying from water-related diseases every year.
WaterAid are currently helping a million people a year gain access to water and 1.5 million to sanitation - but they need our help to continue.
