London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·

Registered Charity 1165203. We are volunteers, trained by the Ambulance Service, providing emergency lifesaving care to our local communities. After a 999 call we are dispatched alongside an ambulance; we are local and often the first on scene to preserve life whilst an ambulance is en route.

Story

This is a rather belated decision to fundraise for my latest marathon efforts at London next weekend. A couple of people have asked me if they could sponsor me for a good cause so I've chosen a local charity which arrived first 'on the scene' and helped me earlier this year when I injured myself at home.

First Responders are a vital part of the nation's healthcare team, particularly in more rural areas where it can take an hour for an ambulance to arrive. Fortunately I am ok, but I'd really like to give something back to Trent Valley First Responders and so would be very grateful for an donations, however small. I shall be running with extra motivation in my 26.2 mile Run!
