Eddie Izzard I am not and anyone who knows me understands I am no runner (I really do run like a girl) but I am going to walk the Bacchus Half Marathon at Boxhill for Gary Hird. I like to think he would wholeheartedly approve of this event (supported by a local vineyard who supply the wine and hog roast at the end).

Gary Hird was one of those people in life you will always remember and it was a privilege to have known him. He was supportive and kind to me during my work at John Lewis and there are literally hundreds of people who share my views. There are not many people in life who touch so many with such quiet influence. I was so sad to hear Gary had lost his fight to cancer in June this year and I wanted so much to do something in his memory. We have to try to stop losing fabulous individuals to cancer. Cancer Research offer us some hope for the future.
