National 3 Peaks Challenge · 18 June 2016

If you have a life-limiting illness, we can care for you and your family. Our care is free and can be provided in your home, at our Living Well community hubs or our In-Patient Unit.

Story

On the 18th - 19th June, four teams from Fairview New Homes will take up the challenge and climb the three highest mountains in the UK: Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in Wales, all within 24 hours as part of the national 3 peaks challenge.

The four teams consist of twenty one members of staff from different departments across the company and will be backed by an additional eight member support crew. The teams have been preparing for the event over the past six months.

Our aim is to raise money for Isabel Hospice, a registered charity based in Welwyn Garden City that provides free specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses and also provides support to their families. Their professional staff, clinical staff and tireless volunteers care for the needs of the East Hertfordshire community. Last year they cared for over 1,300 patients and nearly 2,400 family members.

In order to operate this free service, Isabel Hospice needs £4.7 million per annum, £3 million of which is funded from charitable sources including events such as ours. Please visit http://www.isabelhospice.org.uk/ if you would like to know more about Isabel Hospice.
