BUPA Great North Run 2013 · 15 September 2013 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

I am running the Great North Run in memory of my brother Daniel who died very suddenly in May last year.

Daniel was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and died within days. He never had a days illness in his life, in fact lived life to the full. He was very athletic, enjoying many sports, completing the Great North Run in 2009.

I on the other hand have never been 'sporty' and have only joined the gym in recent months. Where ever Daniel is now I am sure he will be having such a laugh at his little sister running around the country lanes training for this great event.

I know times are tough and every penny counts but please give what you can for this great cause!

Wish me luck and many thanks!

Ruth
