Liverpool Half Marathon 2011 · 27 March 2011 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know my Grandad suffered a severe stroke last year that has changed both his life and the family members who have now become his carers.

As there is little I can do to help I have decided to run the Liverpool half marathon on March 27th to raise some money for the stroke association which will hopefully benefit people suffering from strokes now and in the future.

This will be a massive challenge for me as I haven't done any running since I left school (10yrs ago!!), the race is 13.1miles and I am not quite sure what i've let myself in for!!

Please dig deep and sponsor me as much or a little as you can.... every penny counts.

Every year 150,000 people suffer a stroke. The Stroke Association campaigns, educates and informs to increase knowledge of stoke at all levels. The charity funds research into prevention, treatment, better methods of rehabilitation and helps stroke patients directly through its community support services.
