I'm not a cyclist. Far from it, I'm a plump middle-aged woman with an old-lady bike. 

But I wanted to do something for Family Journeys and their work supporting children when families are in conflict after separation. Children in this situation rarely feel heard, they often feel torn loyalties, and a great deal of sadness and worry. Given how common separation and divorce is, imagine how many children there are having a really tough time. Family Journeys gives them the help they need, through supporting the children and helping their parents to sort things out in ways that are best for children.

The bike ride is 90 kilometres - all flat, thank goodness, along the Forth and Union canals. 

If you can give 10p per kilometre, that will buy specialised story books for children helping them to share their feelings and their views about their family situation..

If you can give £1 per kilometre, that will help Family Journeys run a children's group or a support group for parents.
