Story
Thanks for supporting me!
While recent years have seen me take on several sporting challenges, none involved running for quite so long. I'm doing this for two reasons:
Firstly, I will be fundraising for the amazing Action Through Enterprise. They work with communities in Lawra through enterprise, education and inclusion programmes. They focus on tackling poverty through creation of community hubs. They begin by introducing school meals to immediately impact and collaborate with a large number of people. Then the hub team will identify and support often hidden disabled children, offering practical help, pastoral care and a place to meet. In addition to this they identify small businesses where a financial grant and ongoing mentoring would help them become sustainable and bring wealth into the community. They also focus on gender equality projects in rural communities.
I would love for you to donate and support their work.
Secondly, and on a more personal note, it is 10 years since my ED came along and told me my body wasn't good enough. 8 years since I recovered I'm re-learning how to tell myself that it is good enough, its strong and powerful and can move 21km, albeit not gracefully! I've recently felt more confident telling friends about this part of my life and how it shaped me. Now that confidence needs to transfer to tackling the half marathon.
If you don't feel you can give financially at this difficult time then any support is welcome, even if its just a cheer as you see me dashing round Bristol harbour every lunch time in preparation.
