Story

I have chosen to run the Hertfordshire Half Marathon for Cancer Research UK.

Those close to me will know that both my parents have been impacted by cancer over the last year. Sadly my mum passed away on the 15th September and I am choosing to do this to make her proud one last time.

Everyone knows that I am not built to be a runner, so running a half marathon will be very difficult, but probably a good laugh for some of you to watch! I’ll be sweating and coughing my guts up after about 5k so will be interesting. Mum always took an interest in my running - not sure if she was just being kind or noticed a few extra lockdown pounds! She suggested I raised money for charity when I recently completed my running activity of 150km in July, however I never did. We spoke about me running a half marathon and I feel now is the right time.

I’ll be running it on the 7th November (mum’s birthday). I would really appreciate any support - whether that be donations, or if you are really ambitious, run it with me.

Thanks in advance, it means a lot!
