Leeds to keighley canal walk · 29 February 2020

Papyrus is a young person’s suicide prevention charity. That means we provide urgent support, education, campaigns and conversations that keep children and young people safe from suicide. And above all else, we’re here. We’re always here. That’s how we save lives.

Story

Myself and Suzanne Frater and a few more of our friends are attempting to walk from Leeds to keighley on the Leeds to Liverpool canal path, roughly about 18 miles in memory of Jon Rush and Louise Holmes, two of very good friends of ours who are sadly no longer with us.

All of the team members have personal reasons for joining in with us on the walk and both myself and Suzanne appreciate their involvement and participation in doing the walk with us.

We have chosen PAPYRUS charity as what they deal with is something that has effected us both personally and hopefully the money we raise can help PAPYRUS carry on helping people in the future.

We will be doing this walk on 29/2/2020.

Our friends joining us on the walk are........

Si Frater, Freddie Oliver, Sinéad Branigan, lydia Franks, Nathan Whinnett, Ryan Mitchell, Marie Fogg, Lyn Irving, Jo Bastow, Dawn & Dave Cannon, Rebecca Smith, Stuart Mcerlean, Mike Devlin, Amanda Bolton, Lindsay Firth, Jo Collard, Denise Stafford, Laura Teasdale, James Airey, Rikki Parr, James Pennington, Dan Irving, Karine Blears, Stephen Fisher, Esther Bennett, Claire Louise

Thank you

Ryan, Suzanne and our friends

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide and believes that many young suicides are preventable. They operate HOPELINEUK, a confidential call, text, and email helpline for young people with thoughts of suicide or those concerned about a young person who may have thoughts of suicide. Every £5 raised can help pay for a potentially life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK from a young person wanting to stay safe from their thoughts of suicide. Thank you.
