Ryan's 70 Mile Hike for Cancer

70 mile walk for Cancer · 28 June 2022
As many will know, 18 months ago, I was over 26 ½ stone (perhaps even a bit more if I'm honest) with high blood pressure. I was stressed, unhappy with myself, had poor decision making and terrible routines which included drinking to excess and a horrendous diet and eating patterns.
I can happily say that I am now well over 5 stone lighter, healthier, and happier (and so is my wife!). I have decided I wanted to push myself well and truly out of my comfort zone and do some good for my great friend Mark Solan's wonderful charity, which is very close to my heart and has helped many friends and their family members over recent years in Spennymoor, County Durham.
The Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust has been a massive support and help to so many families in the North East of England with their fight, battle and recovery from cancer.
From day-to-day assistance helping families with finances, running errands, helping with shopping, tidying gardens to establishing support groups and talking therapies and transporting patients to hospital and GP appointments. Following that is the aftercare, supplying people with wigs, coffee mornings for Warriors...trust me these guys are truly amazing!
So I am going to really push myself and undertake a challenge that not so long ago I really wouldn't have been able to do! I could only have dreamt about what I am about to embark on........
My best friend Ashley Kirk and I will be hiking 70 miles in four days along from Ellington/Alnmouth to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
I ask you all to PLEASE dig deep for this fantastic charity and support myself and Ashley on our hike! I will be posting updates of my training and reminding you of how to donate! Spam incoming!
As you all know , I will always try and help anyone out as much as I can so it would be really nice if the favour could be reciprocated.
Big Love
