I'm taking part in this trek on behalf of myself and students at the Gateway Academy. We want to do all we can to try and help stop the cruelty to bears around the world. It is our hope that this trek will not only raise desperately needed money but also awareness about the many dangers still facing bears in the world today.

Over 4 days I will be trekking 50k across the Carpathian Mountains at altitudes of up to 2000ft. This journey will culminate in a visit to the Romanian Bear Sanctuary where we will be able to see first-hand for ourselves the excellent work of the WSPA in one of the last remaining natural habitats for brown bears.
