The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Meet my son, Zach. Zach lives with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a condition as vast and diverse as the individuals it touches. Every day brings new challenges and triumphs. And with each day, we learn a little more about Zach's world, about the complexities of ASD, and about the strength within us as a family. We are navigating this journey together through tears and laughter, setbacks and leaps forward.

Autism isn't simply a diagnosis—it's a chapter in our family's story that has fundamentally reshaped the way we see the world.

In our journey, we've been blessed with the unwavering support of a village. We owe a ton to the exceptional SENCO team at Dalmain Primary School, our local authority, and healthcare services. Their expertise and compassion have not only created an enriching environment for Zach, but also provided emotional support for us all. Their dedication and understanding have been invaluable in accelerating our learning and empowering us in our mission to help Zach.

To express our deep gratitude and give back to this amazing community I've decided to lace up my running shoes. Alongside some close friends, James, Jared & Jim, I will be running a marathon of 57km.

Every penny raised from this effort will be donated to the National Autistic Society, which provides invaluable resources and support to families like ours. In addition to providing much-needed funds, we also hope to raise awareness about autism, to shine a light on the experiences of those living with ASD and to do a little bit to help foster a society that embraces diversity and inclusion
