Ryan's 30 tonnes challenge

I am aiming to lift 30 tonnes in 10 days.
As many people will be aware earlier this year I lost my grandad. He was one of the longest surviving heart transplant patients in the UK. As a result I owe a lot to the Harefield hospital who completed his heart transplant and further care. Without their cutting edge technology I would not have had as many years and memories with my grandad as I did.
People will also know I am a very keen gym goer, I thought a fitting challenge would be something to do with weight, as this is something that my grandad would remember about me. Throughout lock down I have barely been able to lift any weight and with return to gyms on the 12th April 2021 I thought this would be a great day to start the challenge. In my prime before lockdown I would manage a few reps of 100kg on a chest press once a week, however I am going to push myself to the limit with this challenge, after not training properly for nearly 5 months I plan to do 10 days of chest press aiming to complete this challenge, this will be completed using 40kg dumbbells in each hand so 80kg overall this will require 38 reps a day, I will have to factor in muscles soreness as well as fatigue and will push me to the limit whilst I continue to complete my normal training week along with my shift based work which will include nights and earlies making the challenge even harder. Using the dumbbells will make it harder as balance and core strength will also become a factor.
I am hoping as a result of this fundraiser the Harefield Hospital will be able to give other families more years to enjoy with their loved ones like they did my grandad and continue with their cutting edge heart based operations and further care.
