Raising awareness and supporting through physical & emotional trauma that threatens the lives of 1 in 80 women, is the leading cause of death in early pregnancy & often damages fertility. We supply hospitals with leaflets, receive 1m website hits, 10,000 email & forum messages & 2000 calls yearly.

Story

Before November 6th 2017 Georgina and I had very little awareness of what the term 'Ectopic Pregnancy' actually meant.

Fast forward 24 hours and we had found out the hard way. Georgina in the early stages of pregnancy with our second child went to the doctors after complaining of stomach pain. Cue a dash to the hospital where we were told that she had suffered an Ectopic pregnancy. An Ectopic pregnancy is where an egg is fertilised outside of the womb and in this case it had attached to the ovary, where it ruptured and Georgina had been bleeding internally for three days.

Rushed into hospital, for an emergency, life saving operation and with an unknown long term outcome on the impact of fertility due to the position of the pregnancy, is in the top 1 scary moments of life to date!

Thankfully the operation was a success and the surgeon not only saved Georgina's life but was confident that there should be no long term impact on potential future pregnancies.

The period after the operation was a very emotional and lonely place and it was here that the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust were brought to our attention. The trust provides a service to both Women and Men that have been affected by Ectopic Pregnancy. They were not only there to provide us with invaluable support to help us come to terms with the trauma we experienced, but were also there months later to support us through a subsequent miscarriage.

Run by volunteers this small charity relies on donations to survive and after they helped us, it is time to repay the favour, so I am going up Kilimanjaro!

Please give as generously as you can to the cause and share this page.

Thank you for reading and the donation ;)
