Please read below on how to purchase tickets
STICK IT ON
Saturday 28th April
10pm - 2.30am
at
Sticky Mike's Frog Bar
9-12 Middle Street, BN1
There are two ways of buying tickets;
1. You can donate a mimimum of £5 on this fundraising page and by leaving your full name (i.e John Smith rather than John) and a note on how many tickets you have purchased we can tick you off the list when you come down to the event. You will also be given the chance to print a receipt of your donation which we recommend you do and bring down with you on the night.
2. Pay on the door.
Tickets will be a minimum of a £5 donation and if we manage to sell all the tickets we should be able to raise £1000+
It also wouldn't be a Stick It On event without our budding Fatboy Slims/Jimmy Saville's (delete where applicable) getting behind the ol' ones and twos to rock the dancefloor. If you fancy getting involved then click this link and fill out the online form http://www.stickiton.org.uk/ryico
If you need more information or would like to offer your services in anyway please drop me a line rob@stickiton.co.uk or give me a call on 07931 565 361.
Lets make this a great night.
Here is some information on the charity and what the money will be used for.
r.Y.i.c.o
Rwandan Youth Information Community Organisation
Established as a UK registered charity in 2005 by Vivenie Mugunga and Nicky Palmer.
r.Y.i.c.o immediately set to work raising money to fund 2 projects in Rwanda’s capital Kigali, Centre Marembo and Umugongo House.
These 2 projects were set up in response to the large number of children who were forced to live and survive on the streets after losing parents and relatives during the 1994 genocide.
Many children born out of rape during the period of genocide, were also abandoned to live their lives on the streets. Most of the children the projects care for these days are taken in because they have been abandoned by their parents due to absolute poverty – they simply don’t have the money to feed them. Or are escaping from abusive and violent relationships.
Umugongo House is permanent and secure accommodation for boys up to the age of 18. They are enrolled at full time schools and receive full support, access to medical care and are mentored by dedicated staff until they leave.
Centre Marembo is a social centre that the boys use and it is also open to the disadvantaged youth of the Kigali to use as a multi-facetted learning centre.
The charity and projects continue to go from strength to strength and r.Y.i.c.o recently acquired some land on the outskirts of the capital in order to build a new Centre Marembo and Umugongo House. For the last 6 years these 2 premises have had to be rented and on occasions both have been forced to move as landlords have demand their properties back. The development on the new land will mean security and sustainability for the projects as well as the addition of an extra Umugongo House, for girls.
The urban planning and architectural design department at Brighton University have taken on the project of designing the new buildings on the land in Rwanda.
The money raised at the charity Stick It On event on April 28 2012 will be used to start a fund for the construction of the new Centre and Umugongo Houses.
