Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Founded in 1974, by growing our register of stem cell donors, conducting research and supporting patients, Anthony Nolan cures blood cancer and blood disorders. But we need to do more. Without you, there is no cure.

Story

We're back at it again. But this time, we mean business. Unfinished business.

Louise was meant to run the Brentwood Half Marathon in 2018, just weeks after starting her fancy new role at Anthony Nolan. Two weeks before the race, and just one week into her new job, she split her knee open. The race was off and selfies of her strapped up knee were sent to her new line manager, with a text along the lines of, 'Slight issue, can't walk, is it ok if I work from home for the rest of the week?'

It was a good start.

In the following year, Louise... ok, right, it's obviously Louise typing, I'm doing the fundraising admin... in the following year, *I* fell in love with my new job.

Working at Anthony Nolan is the most motivating, inspiring, emotional, rewarding, creative thing I've ever done. We save three lives every day by providing stem cell transplants to people with blood cancer and blood disorders, like leukaemia, after finding them a matching stranger on our stem cell donor register.

As well as recruiting people to the stem cell register at events, cheering #TeamAN at marathons, and doing my day job in the Creative Studio team, I also see how much money is needed to save the lives of people with blood cancer. It costs £40 to add each potential donor to the stem cell register, and countless more money to fund stem cell transplants, undertake groundbreaking research to save more lives, and provide world class nursing care to patients and their families.

So, to mark a year since starting at Anthony Nolan, and since bashing my knee so much it looked like minced meat (sorry), it feels only right to come full circle for round two, drag Ryan along with me, and raise as much money as possible. More money means more lives saved.

Let's go.

---

Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
