Last year i decided the time had come to give something back. I knew i wanted to fund raise for a children's charity and i knew i wanted it to be a challenge - no cycling to Brighton this year - i spotted an awesome Arctic Trek! Yes, yes, yes this is it. I can walk, i have always wanted to go to the Arctic, yes i would love to see the Northern lights - this is a chance of a lifetime, i'm signed up.
Now my place is confirmed i am super super excited but honestly bricking it slightly!
Any way enough about me - what about these children and young people i am fund raising for.
Dreams Come True is a UK children's charity who simply strive to enrich the lives of children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions across the country by making their dreams come true.
Over the last 26 years, they have fulfilled the dreams of more than 5000 children and young people to meet their heroes, enjoy amazing experiences, visit special places and more. For some, a dream is simply to enjoy everyday activities so they also provide specialist items such as disability trikes, wheelchair swings, sensory equipment and technology.
Granting a dream can help a child or young person to think beyond their illness or disability and focus on something highly positive and empowering. The experience creates amazing memories for entire families that have a lasting impact on everyone involved.
