***UPDATE** Due to COVID restrictions the Belfast marathon was cancelled but I am now teaming up with my brother Chris to run our own Marathon in the summer, date TBC but training has begun!!
Why would I want to run 26.2 miles you might be asking......reason below:
Recently I lost my much loved uncle to a terminal illness. His diagnosis just three years ago was a shock to us all and his recent passing has left a big hole in our family. He was a true man of faith and his life had a big impact on many of the people he care in contact with.
Throughout his illness Marie Curie offered the care and support he needed to keep him as comfortable as possible as his condition deteriorated. They also provided much needed support to the whole family.
So I have decided to run a marathon in his memory to raise money for this worthy charity so that others in a similar situation can have the same help and support that my uncle had. This is my first marathon and I know it will be a challenge, but I am determined to finish it.
Please consider giving what you can to this amazing charity who help families and people dealing with terminal illness.
