Ramadan Revert Support Challenge · 24 May 2019

Solace is looking for 100 people that love and wish to be like the Ansar! Each person chooses a £1000, £1000, £500 or £100 target to raise by the end of Ramadan 2019.

Story

A revert of Sikh origin, disowned, imprisoned and abused by her husband, his family and her own; then ultimately divorced. Estranged from her children, who have refused to accept her as a Muslim. Living alone and feeling misunderstood and unsupported by the Muslim Community. Lonely and isolated.

A 16-year-old new revert sister, living in a rural area and isn't in touch with many Muslims. Her family have become psychologically abusive and this has progressed to other disturbing circumstances. Young and vulnerable because she wants to leave home and practice her faith, she is pushed to get married and falls prey to the wrong type of "brother", falling pregnant and has child after child. Looks into the mirror at age 25 and wonders where it all went wrong. Struggling with depression and anxiety, maybe divorced, she can't cope with the kids. Social services get involved and she is holding onto Islam by a thread. She's even thinking of leaving altogether.

These are real examples of cases that Solace has dealt with and continue to deal with. This is the reality for thousands or possibly millions of our revert sisters across the country.

"Whoever guides someone to virtue will be rewarded equivalent to him who practices that good action." [Bukhari]

By donating and sharing towards this cause you'd be helping sisters in similar situations. Your zakat or sadaqah will earn you endless ajr, not only because you intended to help one person, but for helping to sustain generations of Muslims because your donation helped to keep sisters in the deen. On top of this, your reward will be multiplied by 70 or more because it's Ramadan!

Your donation will help to:

  • Provide a homeless revert sister (and children if she has any), who has been disowned by family or is suffering from domestic abuse, with a roof.
  • Send revert sisters on Islamic courses.
  • Feed and clothe a revert sister in extreme hardship.
  • Provide counselling and support.
  • Help a revert sister to get married to the right person.

Keep in mind that new Muslims fall under 1 of the 8 zakat categories.

"The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise." (Qur'an 9:60)

May Allah bless you for reading this, donating and sharing.

**Make sure to add Gift Aid (at no extra cost to you) to your donation to further it.
