The Pets Foundation, registered as the Pets at Home Foundation charity numbers 1104152 & SC052589, was founded in 2006 by Pets at Home. We work with rescues to support pet welfare and rehoming. We also support charities who work alongside pets and the people who love them.

Story

Thankyou for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Please allow us to introduce ourselves - we are Adam, Patsy and Sophie, and are part of the Pets at Home Newbury family, with a range of roles, inc store manager, groomer and colleague. We've set up this page because we are really invested in raising as much as we can for a fantastic charity, and we thank you for your time in visiting our page, reading our story, and potentially donating. I know the charity and especially all the animals it will help really appreciate it..

If you had previously told us that we'd willingly sign up to jump out of a plane, we would have likely said you were mad, and that we could get dizzy just by standing up .... that there would be 'no chance' that we would ever do something this crazy ....

And yet , here we are, making a just giving page for a skydive !! So what changed???

When joining Pets at Home, all colleagues are introduced to their charity,  'Support Adoption for Pets.' The work this charity does simply is astounding, and continues to blow us away. They are the number one financial supporter for pet rescues in the UK, they have over 400 adoption centres (inc in our own Newbury store,)  and support over 1000 pet re homing organisations. But most importantly - they truly believe that every homeless pet, deserves a second chance at happiness.

Being in the Newbury Pets at Home store, we get to see this first hand. On a daily basis, we have animals brought into our busy support centre, and put up for adoption for various reasons - many of which are beyond the control of the owners. It can be understandably difficult at times, with a lot of emotion as we take in their pet/s, give them a health check and look after them. However, when we are finally able to re-home that pet and give them a second chance with a loving individual or family, it's all completely worth it. We never put a healthy pet down, and do our utmost to give them their well-deserved second chance.

And this is just at a store level - if you look into the detail around the other aspects that 'Support Adoption for Pets' does , inc their grant programmes, and partnership schemes, you really get to see the benefit of what they bring these animals, their new owners, and other parties.

As a result, we have set ourselves a target of raising at least £750 (although we'd love to smash the £1k mark.) All the money raised goes directly to the charity, and in helping these animals get that second chance. So please, whether you live in Newbury / Berkshire, whether you are part of the Pets at Home group, know us personally & appreciate how crazy this is for us, simply love animals, or are interested in donating to a well deserved charity, please consider sponsoring us, and help us make a huge difference.

Over the coming months we will also endevour to share stories from our own experiences, and that in store that we have. And for more information about the charity, please visit

Thankyou .... and Wish us Luck !!
