if you know me at all, you will realise that running is not something I do for fun. Exercise, and running in particular, is way out of my comfort zone. So much so, that I am probably as much of a couch potato as you can find.  So this is an enormous challenge for me. I don't doubt that I am going to find it really, really difficult.

So why am I putting myself through it?  Well, there are two reasons.

The first is, that NCT were there for me big time when I had my first two children. Everyone's heard of the antenatal classes, but not so many are aware of the effort that volunteers across the country put in to create support for new parents. Tireless dedication, because it makes such a difference to parents who receive that support.

The second is because NCT needs money to survive.  Antenatal classes generally run at about break-even, but there is so much more that needs funding.  Closest to my heart is the breastfeeding helpline, which costs approximately £20 per hour to run.
