Over 300,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. If the illness is detected early enough, many of these children can be cured

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are taking on the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for children with cancer all over the world.

Why World Child Cancer?

In the UK, if a child has cancer they have an 84% chance of survival. In developing countries survival rates can be as low as 10% due to a lack of awareness, misdiagnosis and the high costs of treatment. World Child Cancer are changing this by training healthcare professionals and supporting families to ensure that more children have access to the best possible treatment and care. Every child deserves the chance to grow up and fulfil their dreams, and your support will help to give children with cancer all over the world that chance.

If you donate before 30th June, the UK government will DOUBLE your donation, meaning your support can have twice the impact!

The Challenge

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) in under 12 hours. The total walking distance is 24.5 miles (that’s almost the length of a marathon!) Neither of us have undertaken a challenge of this scale before, so any support will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

In low- and middle-income countries fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer are diagnosed, treated or given pain relief. World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics hospitals and parent support groups
