Story
The NHS needs you
The NHS is remarkable. It is there for us at the most profound moments in our lives, no matter who we are or what we need. The running fit club has decided that it is time to give back to the NHS.
We are currently in a global pandemic and the NHS is finding it extremely difficult to cope. However all the doctors, nurses and NHS staff are going above and beyond to the keep the NHS moving forward and keeping everyone safe.
Additional funding is required for the NHS as it must meet a new range of pressures. These include a growing and ageing population, changes in morbidity, and cost pressures associated with new technologies and pay, and most pressing the crisis which is Covid 19. Despite the recent squeeze on funding, the amount of care the NHS delivers has continued to rise. However, it Is increasingly evident of the strain the NHS is put under.
The running fit club and its members will be running and cycling for 30 days consecutively throughout June 2020 . One of our members has pledged to run 500km in 30 days and some with targets of around 300km. To put your body through this immense strain is no easy fete. Our runners are putting their bodies on the line so it may inspire and encourage others to get involved. The beauty of this challenge is not only will you be helping others through raising funds you will be helping your self-staying fit and healthy.
100% of raised funds will be going directly to the NHS please be generous.
