I would like to tell you why I am hosting an event to raise money for The Safe Foundation charity..............
In 2006, the Safe Foundation was founded by Lucy Dickenson and a small number of trustees.Lucy had virtually nothing financially but everything in terms of vision......to help communities who would otherwise be side-lined or completely neglected 'due to their size, location or status in their environment'.With tireless work and commitment Lucy and her loyal team have built the charity up to the incredible status it has today.....
The Safe Foundation became a registered charity in 2007 and has won so many outstanding awards/honours including The Welsh Assembly Charity of the Year 2013 and The United Nations 5 Star Award for Excellence.
Lucy's determination and passion for the charity is exemplary in every possible way....for a young woman of 26 years old to create and develop such an incredible cause and to have saved and supported people's livelihood is an inspiration beyond words....
Tragically Lucy died in a road accident in Zambia a few months ago, while on a charity project. This has obviously left her family, friends and Safe world devastated....but the family and trustees are commited and determined to keep the Safe Foundation 'raising awareness and funds to facilitate the sustainability of the projects they assist overseas and in the UK'...and this is where your donation/ticket will help.
All the profit we make from the ticket sales and raffle etc at the Safe Cabaret Bristol will go back into the projects that the charity supports. On the evening of the event, there will be a Safe talk/slide-show about the projects/donations etc so everyone can see exactly where the money is going and how the Safe works! Every penny really does make a huge difference so thank you in advance for supporting Safe Cabaret Bristol.
I support the Safe Foundation whole-heartedly because my sister was Lucy Dickenson.
