Story
Saferoad’s 3rd Charity walk is to take place on 27th June 2020 over the Lake Districts’ Scafell Pike. Saferoad are fundraising to support the work undertaken by the STROKE Association.
When a stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
There are 1.2 Million stroke survivors in the UK and over 100,000 strokes a year. That is one every 5 minutes. The effects can be devastating.
The STROKE association is a charity we hold close to our hearts at
Saferoad. One of our own site Managers Adrian Freeman has recovered from 2 within a 9 year period. The Stroke association were paramount to his recovery. Without this support and care we don’t know where he would be today. I think we all know, or know of someone that has been effected by a stroke.
In order to raise funds for the STROKE Association 21 employees of Saferoad staff have volunteered to take the challenge of Scafell Pike. The walk is 12 miles through rough terrain with the highest point being 978m/3209ft above sea level, this should take around 9-10 hours to complete.
Please support our cause. All donations welcomed.
