Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge 2022 · 30 April 2022 to 1 May 2022 ·

We are a life-giving project working sensitively and co-operatively within Sierra Leone, empowering local people and transferring skills for future independence ... ‘helping those in need to help themselves in a truly sustainable way’

Story

This year, I have set myself a walking challenge. A 106 km long distance walking challenge, around the Isle of Wight over 2 days. I hope to complete this both running and walking and of course with a huge smile on my face throughout :D

The most important reason for signing up for this challenge is to raise money for a charity that has really inspired me for a long time. Being a friend of the family since I was young, I have always been inspired by their resilience, kindness and compassion.

Rory's Well is an incredibly empowering NGO that works co-operatively with local communities in Sierre Leone to regenerate livelihoods. The charity helps those in need to help themselves in a truly sustainable way. The villages they work within Sierra Leone are remote, subsistence communities, with very few ways of making a living and minimal resources. They work holistically with these people to regenerate the village from basic needs to livelihoods and the environment.

Looking forward to sharing with you my progress!!!
