More than 200 million women and girls alive today have undergone FGM (Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting). The practice is a huge violation of human rights, has no health benefits, and can cause severe bleeding and problems urinating, and later cysts, infections, as well as complications in childbirth and increased risk of newborn deaths.

Believe it or not, 2.1% of women in London are affected by FGM/Cutting. Action must be taken to protect them and to ensure this stops.

The Vavengers are taking this action. A charity committed to ending Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting and Violence Against Women and Girls.

In April 2023, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon. In doing so, I am raising £1000 for The Vavengers to help them support the victims and raise awareness.
