Purple Wave 2022 in the Great Manchester Run · 22 May 2022 ·

One in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. Here at Manchester, we're tackling the disease from all angles. Help us create a life-saving cancer research centre and re-write the future of cancer.

Story

On Sunday, 22 May, I'll be putting on my training shoes and taking part in the 10k Purple Wave challenge 2022, to help re-write the future of cancer. We all know someone whose life has been changed by cancer, which is why researchers in Manchester are working hard to improve how cancer is treated and help more patients with cancer get back to normal life. This is where we can help. Working in partnership with Europe's largest cancer hospital, The Christie, and Cancer Research UK, The University of Manchester is building a world-leading cancer research centre. The new centre will bring together one of the largest concentrations of doctors, nurses and researchers in Europe all working together to tackle cancer head-on. But this will only be possible with the help of people like us. Please join me in re-writing the future of cancer by sponsoring me today!
