Memory Walk
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Liz and I are walking to raise awareness of Alzheimer's and all types of dementia, primarily because Sally's mum had it, but also because many others are living with it, either personally or through a loved one.  It is an awful disease; there is no cure, but funds will help to ease its effects.  Initiatives such as Memory Cafes, Singing for the Brain, Dementia Friends, Side by Side volunteering and Hospital Befriending all need funds to operate effective.   Hopefully, one wonderful day, effective treatment and a cure will be found so it can be prevented and eradicated.  Some incredible research is being done at the moment; however that costs money, so sponsoring Liz and I will help that too.

We would both be very grateful if you are able to help us, either by supporting us on the Day, 3rd September, or even better, by sponsoring us.    £5 funds a weekly session at a Memory Café, but any amount is brilliant and will help an excellent cause.

Thank you.  xx
