The Fan Dance Race Series · 6 July 2019 to 13 July 2019 ·

Annually our fabulous group of parents, carers and teachers work tirelessly to raise circa £12,000. This year our headmaster has given us an additional challenge to fund the Schools efforts in achieving the ArtsMark award!

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year was the National 3 Peaks! This year we’ve upped our game, ( I didn’t think we could, but wait until you see this belter!)

I give you..... THE FAN DANCE 2019!!!!

On the 6th July 2019 I will be attempting to complete this beast within 6 hours!

The Fan Dance is a gruelling 24km SAS Selection test march staged over Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons, whilst carrying a 35lb backpack. The infamous march is the world’s oldest Special Forces test and is used as the first major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary Selection course. The AEE Fan Dance Race Series event is the original version with a provable and undeniable heritage. Founded, organised and managed by veteran SAS &SBS soldiers, our ethos is of integrity and the unrelenting pursuit of excellence.

I’m a 43 (will be on the day) year old mum of one, my amazing Sophie! Never in all my life have I even imagined taking part in anything as tough as this. Life affirming, life changing, whatever happens, I’m doing it for our children, for future generations that pass through the gates of Stockton Heath Primary School. To give them a better chance in this tough & getting tougher world we live in.

I’ve got a hell of a long way to go with my training. No doubt I’ll have my Dot,  aka Sergeant Major Gregory and the rest of the team giving support and providing me with strength when I desperately need it in my darkest hours.

Please help me along the way with any donations you can spare, no matter how big or small, the boost they provide is invaluable to me.

Thank you all so much for backing me on this one, keep following my journey, and tag along for a training walk, if you fancy distracting me from the pain for a few hours!

Thanks again troops! x
