Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have joined the #giveWAY2summer challenge with my now friends at WAY. I am trying to walk 10 kms a day until the 2nd September when it will be 3 years since I lost my partner Dickie.
Covid19 has hugely affected charities as their key fundraising events usually held over the Summer months have all been canceled, as some of you know I was supposed to be in the WAY Dragon Boat Team race last year and I put my hand up for it again this year but alas it was not to be, so hence my joining the walking challenge.
10kms a day is not far but hopefully it will help keep me moving and keep my mental health happy during lock down and I will have walked 640 kms (it works out at about 15 marathons or from my mum's house in Perth to my birthplace Kalgoorlie!)
I joined WAY (Widowed and Young) a little bit after Dickie died. It's hard to know what to do after someone you have been with for so long is no longer there. The charity has helped with support and advice and I have met some great people who I now call friends. Donating helps keep this great Charity going especially during these strange times, to help others who will hopefully find WAY.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
