My sister, Sally died of an aggressive incurable cancer. She passed away barely a month after her full diagnosis. The shock to both her, and her family was enormous. She had till then lived independently as an extremely self sufficient person. When she received the diagnosis, she felt vulnerable, alone and fearful of how the illness would progress. Marie Curie provided extraordinary support both in her home and eventually in their hospice. It is unimaginable how that last month would have felt, both for her and the friends and family without the experience and quality of care provided by Marie Curie.
