Story

Our Team:

Sally / Run 5.3km - “The Lexi has been a dream come true, a community cinema run for and by the community. These vital funds, as we slowly recover from the pandemic, will be key to maintaining and developing valuable local partnerships and delivering real benefits to everyone.”

Russell / Swim 750m - “as a long term supporter of The Lexi I have seen how this can build and support a local community. Working with local partners to widen the reach is a vital part of The Lexi’s work “

Dave / Cycle 19.8km - "I love cycling. And I work at the Lexi, so get to see first hand how cinema brings people together, and would love to see the Refugee Film Club, and other initiatives, get the funding to continue. Happy to combine my passion for cycling with my passion for cinema"

Support the Salusbury World Refugee Film Club at the Lexi
Cinema!

Please sponsor our heroic Lexi Tri Team, currently in training for Blenheim Triathlon on 28th May!! Funds raised will enable us to continue offering our women-only cinema club for free to women from Salusbury World’s ESOL course- amongst other fantastic community screenings.

WE NEED YOU!!!

Our team are fundraising to support the whole range of community and access screenings at the Lexi, for example:

Salusbury World Refugee Film Club: We are coming to the end of the funding for this popular community strand and funds we raise will go towards keeping these screenings free of charge for our wonderful

Salusbury ladies. Relaxed Screenings: Help us reach more families with these special shows for neurodiverse children and their siblings.

Cinema Gems: Support these affordable screenings for seniors, followed by an informal film discussion group in a welcoming atmosphere.

Holiday Clubs: The Lexi currently offers subsidised tickets to several local holiday clubs and nurseries serving the local area, bringing little ones for fun at the cinema while their parents work. We keep this affordable for local kids in childcare by running these shows with prices as low as we can possibly make them.

…and many more!

A £10 donation, with Gift Aid (25% extra, at no extra cost to you), would be worth £12.50 to our community!

ABOUT THE TRI - We want to recruit as many local people, of any shape/size or level of fitness, to enjoy local swim/cycle/runs and join 150 people from across the area. Most of us are complete sporty event novices-and over half will do Relay legs instead of all three legs.

The aim is to have fun.

ABOUT THE LEXI - The Lexi is the UK’s only social enterprise
cinema, a volunteer-run picture palace with strong links to our local
community. Since 2008 we’ve been “using business to do good” and putting local people at the heart of all that we do. We give 100% of our profits to charity. As well as delivering an amazing film programme we’re also a valuable resource for out local neighbourhood and our home borough of Brent, delivering a multitude of film-based community projects.
