I met Nicola Hughes' father, Bryn at the Emergency Services show earlier this year.  PC Nicola Hughes from GMP was murdered with her colleague Fiona Bone when she answered an emergency call in September 2012.  Bryn was an inspirational man.  He is raising money for the PC Nicola Hughes memorial fund, which he set up in her memory to help children who have lost a parent through a criminal act.   He will be heading to the North Pole in 125 days to run the North Pole Marathon with one of Nicola's colleagues. 

 

I promised myself that I would do whatever I could to support this charity, so when they announced the Run to Remember I thought that is something I could really do!  250 miles, over 125 days, its easy, 2 miles a day (yes that included Christmas Day and more worryingly boxing day - hangover or not).

 

All I have to do is raise the £100 Ipromised to raise.  There are more than 1500 Police Officers and staff from across the UK are taking part in this, all Forces are represented.

 

Please give me a little just to show that Nicola is still remembered, if I hit my £100 before Christmas I promise to post a photo of me on that Boxing Day run!!
