Akamba Aid Fund is a small independent UK charity founded in 2000 supporting the people of Kyuso Sub-County, NE kenya. Our main focus is provision of clean water and sanitation, supporting general health with a particular focus on eyes and women's health and promoting improvements in education.

Story

Sally died last August after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer.  Many of you will know that she chaired the local village school governors. Dr James Buckle who is a major player in Akamba, was Sally's GP/doctor. The rebuilding of 2 mud huts into a concrete block western style school for 100 children will be of inestimable value in the Akamba area, but also a wonderful permanent memory of Sally, who was so concerned about supporting education for all. Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Our children and I have now cycled the 150.6 mile Coast to Coast route over Easter from Whitehaven to Sunderland. And wow, do we ever know it.  Eye watering hills - and that's walking up them!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Akamba Aid Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
