People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing two challenges on consecutive weekends 11th May and 17-18th May to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Research Centre.

This is memory of friend and colleague Giles Bullock who sadly lost his battle with prostate cancer on 9th April 2013 aged 53. Giles was partial to a cycling challenge; Mont Ventoux, Way of the Roses, Laos and the various French Chateau Challenges to name but a few, plus the odd walking challenge; Caledonian Challenge in particular! So, it seems fitting to undertake such challenges in his memory.

I would be very grateful for any sponsorship for my efforts please!

Challenge number one –

The Fred Whitton Challenge on Sunday 11th May

This is a gruelling 111 mile cyclo sportive challenge ride around the Lake District, taking in the climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott & Wrynose passes. It has 10838 feet (3303 metres) of ascent!

Challenge number two –

The Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge on Sat 17th and Sun 18th May

This challenge involves climbing three of the most iconic mountains in Wales.  The mountains are:-

  • South Wales : Pen Y Fan            at 886m / 2907 ft.
  • Mid Wales       Cadair Idris           at 893m / 2930 ft.
