Late at Night (Debut Album Release)

Lana Salwa MacIver is raising money for Bipolar UK

Late at Night (Debut Album Release) · 2 February 2023

Bipolar UK is the national charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families with the much misunderstood and complex condition of bipolar. We support more than 80,000 individuals and families every year.

Story

Bipolar is one of the most misunderstood mental illnesses. When I was diagnosed for the first time at 17 years old in Beirut I had no idea what was in store for me. I spent the next 13 years battling the illness in ways I wasn’t prepared for. I couldn’t hold down jobs, I was often dubbed as weird by my peers for being erratic and having unusual behaviour. During my highs I would create beautiful music but also be a nightmare to be around. During my lows I couldn’t speak or move for days. I had no emotional support from anyone because nobody in my circle knew enough about the illness. I want to change this for another young person. I want to raise money towards more research and better care for people with this illness. To help change someone’s experience of this illness and make it more positive.

In conjunction with my debut album release, Late at Night, which was written during my longest manic episode, I’d like to invite you to donate to the charity, Bipolar UK. You can do this instead of buying my album or alongside buying my album. Whatever is easier for you, as I know we’re in a cost of living crisis. Every little helps so even if it’s the tiniest amount, it could help towards changing someone else’s life.
