Swimming for Mental Health · 25 May 2021

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Hi everyone,

We hope you're all staying positive and testing negative!

A month from today, on May 25th, Joe and I will swim across Slapton Bay in Devon twice for Charity. We will cover a distance equivalent to the length of the English Channel - roughly 21 miles. We will split the distance 50:50, meaning we will swim ~10 miles each over the period.

The average time for a solo crossing of the channel is 13 hours. Our goal is to complete the equivalent distance in under this time. Because our progress is dependent on tides, we are unsure whether the whole distance is doable in a day. If this is the case, we will do it over two and still aim to finish in under 13 hours swimming time.

All proceeds raised will go directly to the MIND, a UK based mental health charity.

We hope you will consider donating to what we believe is a very worthwhile cause.

Thank you,

Sam and Joe
