World Jewish Relief is the UK Jewish community’s international humanitarian agency. We tackle Jewish poverty and reach beyond our community. We create opportunities for people to find work and become self-reliant; we bring dignity to the elderly and we respond to international disasters.

Story

Hello - thank you for clicking on the link that I have no doubt by now sent you many times.

I am running the London Marathon this year in aid of World Jewish Relief ("WJR"). WJR is the British Jewish community’s international humanitarian agency. It is the charity that brought my grandfather to England as an orphan refugee, along with 731 other children, after the Holocaust in 1945.  Since then it has continued to do wonderful work, servicing both Jewish and and non-Jewish communities around the world, who need long term support and emergency relief. Amongst others, a recent focus of WJR has been helping the Uyghur Muslim refugees in Turkey and following the tragic events in Afghanistan over recent days, WJR will be keenly focussed on helping those displaced Afghans that are lucky enough to reach countries that WJR operate in.

Providing these essential services comes at a huge cost and any donation you feel able to make to contribute would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
