Running 150 miles in April - Palace For Life · 1 April 2021

We use the power of football and Crystal Palace F.C. to transform young south London lives through regular free physical activity, help with education, or employment needs and support with mental health and crime reduction through 1:1 mentoring.

Story

Throughout the month of April I will be running 150 miles, in an attempt to raise as much money as possible for Palace for Life. The charity does an exception amount for the community, guiding young south Londoners in an effort to keep them healthy and set them up for life ahead.

Palace For Life support people of all ages living with a disability, including the delivery of Down’s syndrome, powerchair, vision impairment and mental health football sessions. They help participants improve motor skills and physical fitness, as well as build their self-esteem and provide opportunities to interact with new friends and the wider community all through Disability Sport.

Although London had an unemployment rate higher than the national average at 6.3 percent, the South East, and South West regions of England were both lower than the national average. Palace For Life are on a mission to support those furthest from the job market, gearing them towards work readiness. They set up enterprises and employability programmes.

The Palace for Life Foundation has been working with the south London community for over 25 years. Existing to leverage the power of football and the Crystal Palace FC brand to change the lives of young people across south London, particularly the most hard-to-reach and hard-to-help. We work with over 13,000 people each year, inspiring them to find a better path and to lead a healthier life.
