Story
I have signed up to do a trek through the Sahara desert in aid of the Hospice of St Francis In November 2018.
We will be walking atleast 20km a day in 40 degree heat and sleeping in tents at night under the stars when the temperature drops to freezing.
Once this is complete I am spending two days assisting a community project in Marrakesh which support the elderly and Children that have lived on the street.
Now this is certainly out of my comfort zone we won’t be showering for four days or have a use of any toilet (poo bags have been listed on our kit list) but I want to do something that challenges myself and in which supports a charity that is very close to my heart.
The on going care and support The Hospice give day in and day out to patients and families is incredible.
One of my lovely friends spent a few weeks here and the nurses could not do enough for Hayley and all of her family making sure she was comfortable.
They provide lovely meals for the families in which the chef is also a volunteer.
They also offer bereavement councerling for families when they feel they are ready/need it.
The hospice relies on its local community to help raise over £5 million a year to fund all of these services.
The NHS only provide 20% of this.
This is why they need our help!
I have to raise at-least £2000 so any small donation I receive Id be ever so grateful!
Thank you so much
Lots of Love
