Marfan syndrome is a disorder of the body's connective tissue, affecting the eyes, heart and skeleton. As the sole charity in the UK dedicated to improving and saving the lives of those with the syndrome we provide personalised support, undertake research into improved treatments, & raise awareness.

Story

Hi, I’ve been lucky enough to be chosen to run the full marathon in London and would like to raise money on awareness on Marfan syndrome due to a tragic loss of one of my best friends on June the 21st of 2019 who’s was taken away from us suddenly and far too early.

Jonny was a big character with a heart of gold and would do anything out of his way to help anyone with a big smile on his face which would light up the room.

Jonny was fit and healthy and didn’t have any problems until that day he sadly passed away and had no awareness of any of the symptoms of this condition which was -
Tall and thin
Disproportionately long arms, legs and fingers
A breastbone that protrudes outwards
An abnormally curved spine
Flat feet

With all those symptoms describing Jonny he would of been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome and would of been treated and had the right support.

I would like to raise money for this charity to create awareness.

Any donation would be much appreciated and would give me that motivation I need to get me over that finish line for my mate Jonny

Thank you xx
