Story
Hi,
Throughout November, myself and Sam Southall are planning on swimming the equivalent width of the English Channel to raise vital funds for A Gift to Lift, a registered charity committed to supporting people of all ages living with blood cancer.
As both of us have become regular swimmers in recent months, we were really keen to set ourselves a challenge to see what we're capable of, and attempting to swim the approximate 21 miles of the Channel seemed to fit the bill.
Since we've become determined to see the ordeal through, we thought that we might as well do it for a good cause, and could think of few more worthy than A Gift to Lift and the work that it does to grant wishes to blood cancer patients and fund research into this devastating disease.
We've been preparing ourselves mentally for the big swim for a while now, so all we've got to hope is that we're up to the challenge physically as well!
However, we're conscious that, with November almost upon us, we really need to get cracking with raising some money, so any donation, large or small, that you're willing to make would be really appreciated!
Besides, if this goes well, maybe the next one to tick off the list is the Atlantic!
Cheers,
Sam
