Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2016 I ran the Brighton Marathon and in doing so, raised money for Diabetes UK.  My inspiration and motivation comes from my 19 year old nephew, Will Wallis, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was only 6.  He has been fortunate to live a full and healthy life with diabetes and in addition to other sports, has now taken to running - hoping to run a marathon before he is 22.

Through my involvement with DUK, I have had the privilege of meeting many other inspirational people who run to raise money for DUK.  Some have diabetes and all are impacted by it in one way or another - sadly, some have tragically lost dear friends and relatives to Diabetes.  They run in their memory and to raise valuable funds for DUK which works to support those with diabetes and also to research the disease and find a cure.  I am honoured to train for and run the VLM in 2018 to raise money to support those who have diabetes so they can live as full and as normal a life as possible - like Will.
