In memory of Isla and what would have been her 10th birthday on the 01/05/2021, lets see if we can fundraise £10,000 together throughout May, united against Childhood cancer. Do a sponsored 10k run, do 10k steps a day, hula hoop for 10mins a day.

Story

We want to help raise money for the Islastones Foundation which is a small family run charity that was set up after Isla (8) lost her battle with cancer.  Islas aunty is my best friend, we are family and I have supported their cause since Isla passed.

My son Charley (6) and I have recently started cycling, after getting a bike for Christmas.  We are going to ride 10K in May to help  raise money for the Islastones Foundation£10k in May Challenge- May 1st would have been Islas 10th birthday.  For those of you that know me I was involved in a car accident a couple of years ago and suffered an injury to my coccyx which has made it difficult for me to walk any kind of distance, let alone ride a bike!

We hope you will dig deep and donate what you can to support me and Charley in our challenge :)

thank you

Sam and Charley

About Isla:

Isla Tansey, a 7-year old girl, started a phenomenal worldwide stone decorating movement in April 2018, called #islastones.Isla was diagnosed with a rare type of brain tumour, DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) and sent home with only weeks to live. Isla began decorating stones for her friends to hide and very quickly her community grew to over 60,000 worldwide. Despite experiencing considerable pain, Isla enjoyed to see where each of the stones ended up and to see the smiles of her many followers! Sadly Isla passed away on 10 July 2018.#Islastones Foundation is her legacy set up to fund childhood cancer research and support families affected by childhood cancer. We hope you can help make it grow too so that we can use it to raise money and awareness of DIPG and childhood cancer, in the hope of supporting other families that will have to endure what Islas did. We want them to know they are not alone.  Above all, though, we hope its a little reminder of the fun and happiness
