Sleeping under the stars to help local homeless people

Sam Bias Ferrar is raising money for Renewed Hope

Sleeping out for local homelessness · 10 September 2022

Renewed Hope are organising a community sleep out event to increase awareness of homelessness and raise funds. It will be in Reigate on Saturday 10th Sept. Sleeping out can mean what you want - in a tent, or in a cardboard box under the stars

Story

Renewed Hope are planning a community event on the theme of homelessness, which it hopes will raise awareness around the reality of homelessness and rough sleeping, and raise funds for the work of the charity.

I have been a Trustee and Volunteer at Renewed Hope for around five years. We have made lots of progress over the last few years, including opening our first permanent property in Redhill housing and providing support to four local homeless men. In addition to hiring qualified and experienced support workers to assist our beneficiaries and providing best in class training to our staff and volunteers. Our daily drop-in which supports local homeless individuals as well as other vulnerable and isolated people.

I'm raising money to further expand our services and acquire more property with the vision that we can help solve homelessness in the borough.

On Saturday 10th September, I will be sleeping out under the stars, regardless of the weather at Old Reigations RFC with nothing more than a sleeping bag and a wooly hat.

In addition to sponsoring me, please consider purchasing a ticket to the event. There will be food, drink, games and more. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/renewed-hope-big-sleepout-2022-tickets-366786517347
